The main entertainment stage will come alive from 10am on Saturday with the Mullumbimby Bloke himself, Mr Ray Essery with another local award winning artist – Slim Pickens.
Getting the party started from 12pm Saturday will be great local band PUSH.
Push is one of the premier cover bands on the far north coast. The band has gained a reputation with venues and music fans as one of the most energetic and entertaining bands available today.
From smooth groove dance to burning rock from such varied artists as Split Enz, The Divinyls, Baby Animals, Maroon 5, Pink, Bruno Mars, Thirsty Merc, Hoodoo Gurus, Powderfinger and ACDC, Push bring a professional entertainment package to all events.
PUSH are back by popular demand after playing Saturday night of the 2017 Show. The rainy weather didn’t stop many of our patrons dancing the night away in front of the entertainment stage and we are certain there will be many dancing patrons again for PUSH in 2018.
Our Official Opening will start at approximately 12.45pm with our Official Guest Mr Neil Farquhar. Neil has been a director of the major Show Sponsor Mullumbimby Rural Co-Operative for over 10 years and is currently Secretary of the Board. He is a retired Veterinary Surgeon with extensive experience and interest in all farm livestock. Neil is a long term Show Supporter as a Judge in the Showgirl and Pet Show sections plus previous Honorary Vet. We are honored to have Neil open our 111th Show. Our Main Stage program will then continue with the much anticipated awards for our Show Ambassador & Showgirl competitions.
Be sure to stay close by for the Major Fundraising Raffle draw (winners do not need to be present). The prize pool for this years raffle is over $3,000. We thank East On Byron for our first prize of a two night accommodation package for two in one of their Terrace Villas. Second prize is an always popular family pass to the 2018 Mullum Music Festival The 2018 Third prize is a Sunrise Breakfast Balloon ride with Byron Bay Ballooning Our thanks to Mullumbimby Showground Trust for their donation of the third prize. Tickets in this years major fundraising raffle can be purchased from Stewarts Menswear in main street of Mullumbimby or the Secretary’s office of the show from 5th November during office hours of 9am – 4pm.
After the Official opening finishes with the prize winners we welcome PUSH back to the stage for another hour from 1.15 prior to the Award announcements from the Truck Show and prize presentations. PUSH will then finish the afternoon with one more set from 3pm till approx 3.45pm which is when the Auction for charity for the Mullumbimby Truck Show will commence. With great auction items for all this is a great opportunity to have a sit down and support this years Truck Show Charities.
From 5pm Mangrove Jack Band will play into the evening with their Mangrove Jack broad range of Soul, Blues, Reggae & Rock favourites.
