Thanks to our Major Sponsors for 2019
We look forward to welcoming you to the 2019 Show on the 9th and 10th of November.
Formed in 1907, the Mullumbimby Agricultural Show is the longest running not for profit community organisation in the Brunswick Valley. The Annual Mullumbimby Agricultural Show is a celebration of the areas diverse and evolving agricultural, horticultural and livestock industries. We continue to share the traditions of the areas past while bringing new and exciting developments within agriculture, horticulture and rural industries to our patrons. Each year we provide a wide variety of educational and entertainment as well as our competitions to all ages.
From Mullumbimbys rural traditions to our modern day lifestyles our Committee continue to provide entertainment and education for all community members.
Now in the 21st Century, the Mullumbimby Agricultural Society continues to support, educate and promote agricultural, horticultural and pastoral excellence and innovation. The Mullumbimby Agricultural Society is primarily responsible for organising, developing and staging Mullumbimbys largest not for profit community event – the annual Mullum Show. This Show brings together the best for a weekend of agricultural, horticultural and pastoral competitions, displays and demonstrations, exhibitions, entertainment, commercial exhibits, carnival rides and a variety of food stalls.
When the Mullumbimby Agricultural Show Society was Incorporated in 1907 it was an opportunity for local farming families to share their knowledge and form friendships. It is the oldest continually run event in the Mullumbimby area and is still run by a core group of dedicated volunteers and is a not for profit organisation.
The Showgrounds were gifted to the Show Society in 1903. On the 23rd January 1904 William John Reilly, John Craig Morrison, James Davidson, Peter Nelson & Edward Jones– were appointed as Trustees of the Showgrounds. The First Show was held by the Inaugural Mullumbimby Agricultural Show Society in 1907. Regular meetings were held with monthly dances as fundraisers. The Show ring was leveled and filled by earth moving equipment in 1912.
Today the Showground is also home to caravaners and campers plus a multitude of usergroups such as Spaghetti Circus, Rotary Club, Mullumbimby Pony Club, Brunswick Valley Pony Club, North Byron Farmers Markets hold their weekly Mullumbimby Farmers Markets at the showgrounds on a Friday.
The traditions of the Main pavilion with its arts, crafts, baking and horticulture continue alongside evolving competitions such as the Main Ring team events, tug-o-war and the always popular Demolition Derby.
